Big Pan was trained by the American Suzuki Association's Violin Teacher Training Program, and is devoted to Dr. Shinichi Suzuki's philosophy and violin-teaching method.
Big Pan is a Doctoral Music Student at the University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory of Music and Dance, and performed extensively in the KC area as a member of the UMKC Graduate Fellowship String Quartet.
Big Pan got his Bachelor's degree at Peabody Conservatory of Music of Johns Hopkins University, and his Master of Music degree from The Juilliard School. His teachers include Scott Lee, Benny Kim, Heidi Castleman, Hsin-Yun Huang, Victoria Chiang, and Choong-Jin Chang.
Big Pan now lives in Lawrence, Kansas with his fiancee, Wan-Ju.
Big Pan started on the piano when he was 5, the violin at 9, and the viola at 15. He loves playing all of them, except now Wan-Ju does most of the piano playing.
